Monday in Holy Week

+JMJ
Praised be Jesus Christ!  Greetings to you and your holy angels!  Holy Week is upon us again, but not as a thick, suffocating depression, but as hope, because we know that after Good Friday comes the Glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday!  It is also the last ditch effort with our Lenten promises, seeing as Lent ends officially Holy Thursday.  It is also a time not to let our guard down either.  The Evil One knows what kinds of graces and blessings are waiting for us this Holy Week.  He does not want us to grow closer, but widen the gap and increase our inner turmoil.  Listen not to the voice of the evil one or the flesh, nor the world.  Listen only to the voice of Christ speaking in your heart!  Pray that you may hear His voice.  Pray to the Blessed Mother!  Pray to the Angels!  Pray to the Saints!  All of them more than happy to assist you!  Be in constant prayerful vigil these days, even more than you should be on all other days.

Pray also that you might learn to love God more and more these days.  Love the Lord with everything you are and with everything you do!  Let not a moment be wasted on idle earthly things with the treasures and graces are always there to meditate on!  This week, meditate most passionately on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.  It is in Him where all our love, all our wants, and all our treasures are.

Remember also, as you gather in graces and blessings to remember the Church Suffering.  Pray that they may speedily be purged and able to enter the glory of heaven and the ranks of the Church Triumphant, where they will always be willing to pray for you and intercede for you in return for your help to them.

I know that there are many that are so glad that Easter is so close, and rightfully glad!  But I know also that there are many still in pain, and not of their own accord.  Remember them also.  Offer up your happiness for those who have nothing to be happy about.  Offer up your joys to those with only sorrow.  When you are in sorrow and pain, remember how courageously and most beautifully Our Lord endured the sufferings of His death, and not because He rightly deserved that punishment.  No.  We are the sinners.  We are the ones who should have been suffering with such terrible agony.  But our God is a most merciful God and has such a great and immense love for us, that He would rather sacrifice Himself that we would be saved.  He took on the curse that the Israelites had took upon themselves when the covenant was broken.  He did not want His people to be a cursed people.  No, His people where to be blessed and free.  In this, He died, redeeming not only the Israelites, His chosen people, but redeeming the world, including all the children of the world, all made in His image.

The Son of Man crucified is our hope, joy, and consolation.  He is our everything.  He gives so much to us.  He has given us everything!  Even unto giving Himself to us everyday in Holy Communion.  How much more can we do to repay Him, but it will never be enough.  It seems all we can do is but a little speck in the universe.  But He will love us always, and is greatly pleased when we do His Will, and do our best to please Him and to love Him.  On this note, I wish to share a prayer for after receiving Holy Communion:

What Shall I Give Thee?

I have received into my heart, Jesus Christ, His Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity!  I begin this day as a day in Heaven.  He is in my soul: The Divine Infant in the crib, the growing Boy at Nazareth, the Apostle acclaimed by crowds on the roads of Galilee, the Miracle Worker Who performed such prodigies, the Martyr Who completed His Sacrifice on Calvary.

He is in me.  What more can I desire when I possess Jesus?

And now, O Good Master, what shall I give to Thee in exchange for Thy visit?  I would like to give Thee a soul all sparkling with purity and sincerity, but mine is afflicted with so many miseries!

I would like to pray to Thee with the burning words of Thy Mother and her court in Heaven, but I feel riveted to earthly things.

I would like to offer Thee courageous loyalty to my Baptismal Vows and Confirmation Graces, but, alas, I have so often been disloyal.

I would like, at least, to have a desire for the Christian life, but I allow myself to be discouraged by my failures.

O good Jesus!  I have nothing to give Thee and Thou hast given Everything: Thou hast given Thyself to me.  I can only join my poor voice in the chorus of praise to Thee, rising out of all the works of Thy creation here on earth:

With the majesty of the mountains, the immensity of the desert, the roar of the ocean, the fury of the storm, I shall praise Thy Power!

With the flowers of the field, the colors of the rainbow, the whiteness of the snow, the blue of the skies, I shall praise Thy Beauty!

With the fruits of the earth, the air I breathe, the light I see, the life I enjoy, I shall praise Thy Goodness!

With the splendor of the stars, the rays of the sun, the moon's pale light, the depths of space, I shall praise Thy Immensity!

With six billion people now living on earth, I shall praise Thy Mercy!

May our voices unite with the billions of those who inhabited the earth before us, and out of whose dust the beauty of nature perpetually rises to praise Thy Glory!

May an infinite concert of voices from cottages and palaces, from fields and forests, from towns and deserts, from workshops and cathedrals, from earth and from heaven, from time and from eternity, arise to give my thanks unto Thee!
Amen.
Praise God Always and Be Holy.

Blessed Be God Forever!

+JMJ
Well, my month studying abroad in Ukraine has brought me to realize that I am not meant to be in school any longer.  I am quite sure of this now.  As to when I will be entering with the Poor Clare Colettines, I do not know.  All I know is that I am going to get my application done as soon as I can and then if I am accepted, I can set an enterance date then.  Lord, Thy Will Be Done!

Praised Be Jesus Christ

+JMJ
I just wanted to thank the Dominican Contemplative Sisters of Lockport, LA.  Especially Sister Mary Imelda.  I was just looking back at some of the conversations that Sister Mary Imelda and I had a year ago. I miss talking with Sister and I can remember what it felt like to be IMing a cloistered nun.  I just want to hug Sister for helping me so much... I miss her and Mother too! If it weren't for these wonderful Sisters, I would be part of the perpetual discerners club. They have been such a wonderful blessing and it is such a grace that they have helped with my discernment. May God reward them!  If you feel that you have a call to the religious life, please, please, please check out these wonderful and blessed Sisters!  If you would like to contact them, I can provide you their e-mail or address if you prefer snail-mail!  Also, there is an entry about them if you go back through my earlier enteries.  God Bless and Mary Protect!

For You, O Lord, my soul in stillness waits!

Blessed Be God Forever!

Well, it has been a long time now, hasn't it? Ha ha... well I do have a xanga that is kept rather updated. My user name is StarvnArteest. I also have another blog that I am beginning to keep slightly more updated than this one. That one can be found here. That one is more for the purpose of logging correspondence between Mother Mary Regina and myself. There is a total of 2 letters from her scanned in and nothing from me. That blog went a few months without any activity. Quite a bit has happened since the last time I made an entry here. I made a silent reatreat which affirmed my calling to the cloister. I made a pilgrimage to World Youth Day, and stopped in Assisi and really was the best part of the entire pilgrimage! I really want to go back to Assisi!

There is just too much to catch up on! There is a lot recorded on my xanga if you want to check that out to see how I have been lately. I admit there were some not so nice times and then there were the super awesome times.

Now, I need to find some time to make it to the Monastery for a weekend or two! I have already looked through my calander as of now, and it looks like there might be a few weekend where I might be able to visit! I am just longing to go back! My summer was incredably busy and I was working nearly 36 hours a week! I have to find a job out near campus instead of working for my mother's friend who I worked for over the summer. I didn't really feel like a real employee though. It would have been nicer to have worked for more than minimum wage, but it was for a friend. I am so tired of being so busy all the time! I just want to have like weeks where I have nothing to do so that I can do some things that I have been meaning to do, like reading books and visiting the Nuns!!

I am so tired already and I have about 70+ pages to read by tomorrow and a worksheet and a paper for Monday. Not to mention about a billion art projects! Sigh... I think the weekend needs to come a little sooner... or at least Friday should be coming up sooner... Shoot. I forgot to go drop off my schedule again!!! Arg... I hate being so busy that I forget what I am doing or what I am supposed to be doing! Well, that is all the ranting and raving I will do for now considering there is so much more that needs to be done before tomorrow and I want to sleep tonight!

Blessed Be God Forever!

It has been a long time since I've updated this thing, but I'm done with school. I'm preparing for World Youth Day right now by trying to find everything I need to get my passport. Fun Fun...
Wow, there really isn't anything really new for me to talk about I guess, but one thing I'd love to hear from anyone is some feed back about what kinds of events or celebrations that I should suggest for the Catholic Student Association on campus. I know we want to try to have Mass every SUnday rather than just once a Month, Adoration/Benediction at least twice a year, Rosary groups, and Divine Mercy Chaplet/Novena. ANy other suggestions? Please???

Hair...

I have quite a bit of hair, and for sometime now, I have been debating whether to chop it off now and donate it to Locks of Love or something. Now on the other hand, I can save it so that I can give it up for Jesus when I recieve the habit (where ever I may be...). I really can't decide what it is I should do about my hair.

Praised Be Jesus Christ!

It is another lovely day and it has been so long since I have had a chance to update my blog! I have just one week of classes left and then the dreaded week of finals! Even though I have a million things to do before the end of this week, I feel like I have all the time in the world to do them! Well, since last time I've made an entry we recieved a new Holy Father: Benedict XVI! He seems like a very holy man and I am looking forward to World Youth Day in August! Not only will we go to Germany for the WYD celebrations, but we will also be pilgrimaging in Rome and Assisi and then go to Germany! It will be very exciting, but it will be even more exciting when I get some more funds to help me fund this pilgrimage!
What else is there to talk about? Well, for the Catholic Student Assoication here on campus, I am in charge of liturgical and prayer events on campus. Right now we are thinking up ideas for what things we should do every year. I know we are trying to get Priests to come help us have Mass every Sunday instead of just once a month. Another thing we may do is the Divine Mercy Novena! I am very excited about that! I would love to hear of any other suggestions about what kinds of things we could do! I know we may try to do Adoration on campus twice a year or more, but we may try to do this around finals time (praying before Him for help on finals... :D).
I guess there is not much else to do, but I'd love to share some of my drawings that I made earlier in the school year. Here are a few of the ones that scanned nicely:

Beloved Holy Father...

Beloved Holy Father,
You have been such an inspiration to so many people. You have shown us the beauty of human dignity from beginning to end. You gave us divine wisdom about so many things and directed us towards our heavenly goal, at which you are now to attain at last after your many hyears of hard labor, but all for souls, all for souls! You have given us so much, and now in return, I want to give you someting back for all your precious gifts. I will continue to pray for you, even though you may already be in heaven, you will direct your prayers still in the diresction of those who need them most. I will continue to offer pennances and Masses for you, I pray that you remember me when you reach your Heavenly goal. I pray that you may shower down upon this people the miracles that we need to see, not those that we want. Lay our prayers before the Lord and ask Him to grant that which is accordance with His will. Holy Father, you have done well here on earth, and now you will continue to do marvelous things on earth, but only this time, from Heaven with love. Pope John Paul the Great, pray for us!

"This is JPII holding a Polish Tatra puppy. It is similar to a Great Pyrenees.
What is interesting about this picture is that a Tatra is a guard dog who also
shepherds his flock. From what I understand, that is quite unusual for a dog
to do both.

Just like our Holy Father - A Shepherd who guards his flock."

Pray for Our Holy Father!

After his years of prayers for us all, we need to pray for him in his time of suffering. Let us console him through our prayers.

A Happy Note

Considering I left on a not so happy note last time, I guess there was a bit of suspense left over! Well, just an update to let you know that I am feeling very happy right now because I have started to rebuild my spiritual life and things are getting better all the time! I have a picture of a Monsterance right above my bed so Jesus can watch me while I sleep, and I can watch Him as I sleep in His presence within me.

Another happy note: I am going to go visit some Poor Clare Colettines this weekend! I am very excited about that and I spent almost all of yesterday working on the questionnarie they sent me for the interview! I have only one more question left to complete right now and some of the questions I had never thought about before or had asked myself! It was a real thinker. I should be leaving Friday in the afternoon and it will take me about an hour and a half if I am lucky. I'm just guessing on that based on what my friend who lives in Rockford says. I am getting very excited! I love being with Nuns!!!

I think that is all the happy notes I have for now! Maybe next time I will post some prayers froma prayer book I have! They are all beautiful prayers and I love them, so maybe you would like to see them as well!
God Bless and Mary Protect!
